Stanley Park is Vancouver’s most visited tourist attraction with over 8 million visitors every year, and DANIEL operates two of the most popular attractions within: the Prospect Point Lookout, and the Stanley Park Pavilion at the Rose Gardens. Both destinations have great significance to Vancouver’s colourful history.
The Prospect Point Lookout sits at the highest point in Stanley Park, perched high up on the volcanic rock that was once called Prospect Bluff or Calamity Point. Looking out onto Vancouver’s coveted gateway, the First Narrows, also knows as the Lions Gate, this famous panorama evolved from a native first nations lookout point designed to spot threatening intruders, to Vancouver’s first Signal Station which regulated all of Vancouver’s early shipping activity in and out of the harbour.
Today, Prospect Point is still Vancouver’s favourite lookout panorama with breathtaking views of the North Shore mountains, the Lions Gate Bridge (pictured above, as seen from the lookout point), the Burrard Inlet and on a clear day, Vancouver Island and Mount Baker. Amenities include a spectacular Cafe (Propect Point Cafe), which includes both a full-service restaurant, along with a gourmet marketplace self-serve and various take-out concessions. Sit on our spacious view-deck and enjoy our outdoor Lions Gate Bar. Also be sure to try world famous Prospect Point ice cream, in particular Canadian Maple Walnut. Additionally, the complex houses Stanley Park’s original Trading Post and Gift Shop. The store is beautifully decorated and includes a wide selection of items from uniquely hand-crafted items, locally carved native art, to a collection of clothing, music, books, gifts and souvenirs. There are many exciting trails for walking, hiking and biking all around Prospect Point, including the most popular Lions Gate Bridge trail. Visit us today!

The Stanley Park Pavilion is one of Vancouver’s most coveted heritage buildings. This Class “A” Heritage chalet was built in 1911 and designed by Otto Moberg, the same architect that designed and built all of the CP Rail Chalet’s and Lodges in Banff and Lake Louise. The building was originally built to house the Vancouver Park Board, a large Banquet and Catering hall, a concession and it was also home of Vancouver’s first band stand (Malkin Bowl). Today, This 25,000 square foot building houses The Lord Stanley Ballroom, Vancouver’s most popular wedding destination, The Rose Garden Tea Room (serving afternoon tea and traditional high tea), The Veranda Bar & Grill and a large spacious patio overlooking the garden & forest. The Pavilion also houses the Tea & Gift Shop, featuring various botanical gifts & souvenirs, along with over 200 loose leaf teas.
The Pavilion is surrounded by Stanley Park’s famous Rose Gardens, which span across both sides of Pipeline Road. The gardens are magnificent with over four thousand rose bushes bringing the grounds to life. Nearby you will find the Vancouver Aquarium, along with Stanley Park’s Miniature Railway, the Malkin Bowl (Theatre Under the Stars and various other performances), many memorial monuments and sculptures, the Children’s Farmyard, Stanley Park’s Ecological Society and the Stanley Park Totem Poles. Visit us today!
